COMPOSITION

An abstract floral fragrance with a woody facet. The Eau de Toilette opens with a floral bouquet of rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang, elevated by aldehydes, while sandalwood and vetiver add depth and texture to the scent.

INSPIRATION

In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel called upon Ernest Beaux to create a rare and powerful "woman's perfume with a woman's scent". The Perfumer-Creator presented her with a visionary composition that made unprecedented use of aldehydes, and thus was born N°5 Parfum. In 1924, a new interpretation featuring woodier notes came into being: N°5 Eau de Toilette.
